FGN (Fujigen) is a well known Japanese guitar builder that built instruments for Fender, Tokai, and ESP. Now under their own name, FGN continues to produce instruments of exceptional quality.
The Neo Classic Jazz Bass is inspired by the pre-CBS Jazz Basses of the 1960s, featuring a two-piece alder body in classic sunburst, a maple neck, and a thick rosewood fingerboard.
It sounds exactly as you’d expect from a ’60s-style Jazz Bass — warm, rich, and full of character, with a beautifully defined midrange.
This bass is from around 2010. The action is low, making it very comfortable to play, and at just 3.9 kg, it’s also pleasantly lightweight.
The build quality of this instrument is excellent. Comparable to a Fender American Standard Jazz Bass in both craftsmanship and hardware.
The current new price of the Neo Classic Jazz model is around €1200.
Alder body, selected wood 2 piece
Maple neck
20 Medium Jumbo Frets
C.F.S. (circular fretting system)
2x FGN 62J JB pickups
2x Volume control + Tone control
Gotoh tuners
Gotoh bridge
