I'm selling a Peavey Dyna Bass V American bass guitar. This is the first edition of this model, dating from the late 1980s. Made in the USA, in a Candy Red finish.
As Peavey's top-of-the-line model at the time, the Dyna Bass is equipped with Mercedes-like features: Grover tuners, a Schaller bridge, micro-tilt, a 3-band preamp with a passive mode (with a working tone knob!), and an additional signal-strength control on the electronics board.
The biggest highlight, however, is the powerful Super Ferrite pickups, which are why this model is often called a "Jazz Bass on steroids." Added to this are solid shielding, precise paintwork, and high-quality materials. The class is visible and palpable in every detail: from the beauty of the rosewood fretboard to the quality of the plastic and rubber on the knobs.
A distinctive Peavey feature is its very narrow neck – measuring less than 45mm at the nut. The string spacing is 16-17mm (adjustable at the bridge). The neck is quite slim and very comfortable, but you have to like this size. The length is the traditional 34 inches. It weighs just over 4 kg.
The bass is in collector's condition, and not just "for 40 years." The black hardware looks like new, the paintwork looks excellent, with maybe three minor imperfections on the guitar. The truss rod is in good working order, the frets are perfectly finished, and the string action is currently 1.8-2mm above the 12th fret.
I'm selling it with the original Peavey hardcase, which also looks great.
It can be played in Poznań, Poland; international shipping within the EU is no problem.
Private sale so no warranty, return etc.
