Selling my Aguilar DB359 in a new Thon flightcase.
These full tube Aguilar amps were discontinued long ago. Back in the early 2000s they were sold with a retail price far north of 3.000 USD. And this price tag had reasons: It is a powerful and heavy amp, providing that signature Aguilar sound of their early years. Dominant, clear, yet organic and with lots of attack.
The amp has been used freqeuently, but is technically in top working condition. The power tubes have been checked recently and were still rated Ok.
Here are the specs from the manual:
All noise measurements are “A” weighted.
Power tubes: Four premium Aguilar AG6550C power tubes.
Preamp tubes: Two 12 AX7 and one 12 AU7.
Outputs: 2 ¼” speaker outputs. One 4 ohms, one 8 ohms.
Inputs: One active input 39K ohm, one passive input/1meg ohm.
EFX Send: Variable send level.
EFX Return: One return with –20 db to 0 db compatibility.
Weight: 50 lbs.
Yes, it is super heavy and has a bad “Schlepp”-factor. The amp is only 2 19 inch units high, but quite deep. But what a sound !
The noisy original cooling fan has been professionally replaced with a super low-noise Noctua fan. The preamp tubes are JJ ECC83S.
Due to the weight this amp has to be picked up personally or by a trensport service at buyer`s cost.
Asking 1.400 €.
I am also selling other Aguilar stuff in other ads: a DB659, DB751 and 2 S210 cabs.
