For sale a powerful medium scale (32 inch) from Japan, Fernandes FRB-70 from early 90s.
Light (ash body sen), well equipped (Gotoh tuners, heavy brass bridge) and active. It was the top model of the midscale FRB series. This little bass produces amazingly robust sound - the FGI Technology pickups from Fernandes had crazy signal and the 2-band EQ offers a lot of tonal options. The range of boosting and cutting is massive.
Very comfortable - the frets are high, the truss rod is perfect and the neck is straight, so the action is very low. In addition, we have only 38mm on the nut and a very thin neck, an ideal axe for people with smaller hands. It heights c. 3.2kg.
I rate the condition as very good - there are just some superficial scratches but not damage to the finish and some wear of the golden layer of the bridge. The rest of the bass looks great for c. 35 years! The only flaw to mention is that the balance knob is somehow… unbalanced - both pickups are fully on not in the middle position but at c. 60/40 rotation. Doesn’t really matter but it’s fair to mention
The quality of workmanship is typical of Made in Japan basses - Fernandes has always been one of the most solid manufacturers of MiJ guitars. Neatly drilled neck pocket, rounded fret edges, lacquering - all is top notch.
To be played in Poznań, Poland (!), secure shipping at the buyer's expense will not be a problem (preferably with the neck taken off).
I am not interested in trade, I’m in the process of reducing my collection. It's a private sale, so no warranty, returns etc. can be offered.
I can send you pictures, videos etc.
