Selling this very unique and rare top of the line Ibanez ATK 1305 - produced in 1999 in Fujigen, Japan, by the most elite group of Ibanez luthiers responsible for the Prestige models.

Whereas ATKs are commonly known as "Stingray killers", the 1305 is so much more due to the additional single neck pickup, 3-blade humbucker and 5-position switch allowing for different combinations of coils. The sound is quite modern but with a lot of growl making it a great studio instrument. It can sound deceptively similar to a Stingray (position 4), but you can also get a Marcus Miller’s 70s Jazz Bass (position 3), classic rock 60s JB (position 1) as well as a booming PB-like sound (positon 2) and close-to-the-bridge Jaco’s nasal singing. With 3-band EQ, you can get hundreds of tones.

Manually, the bass is somehow similar to a Music Man SR5 - string spacing and the neck profile and finish are almost identical. The body, though very uniquely shaped, offers great ergonomics and frets access.

The preamp, the pickups, Gotoh tuners, patented super-heavy bridge - everything works perfectly. At the same time, the bass has been played - you can see it especially in some rough surfaces at the back. There are also dings on the headstock and on the maple top. I tried to show it as much as possible in the pictures.

The trussrod rotates with some resistance but does the job, the neck is straight. The frets have been recently sanded by a luthier and the action is set at a comfortable 1.8-2mm at the 12th fret. It weighs 4,2kg which is great for such a bulky 5-stringer. It is 34 inches.

It's one of the crown jewels of my collection, almost unattainable in Europe, and I must confess I might take the add down if I sell some other basses (my herd has grown out of control and I need to trim it a bit).

Can be played in Poznan (Poland) or shipped internationally within the EU in a safe cardboard box and a gigbag.

It's a private sale, so I can offer no warranty, return etc.
