I will sell a Japanese bass guitar Ibanez SR4005E Prestige with replaced pickups: the top Nordstrand Fat Stacks were installed in place of the Bartolini. Produced in 2010 in the famous Fujigen factory.
Like all Ibanez from the Prestige line, the 4005 is a perfectly made and phenomenally comfortable instrument: light (3.9 kg!), with great ergonomics of a small body and a very slim Atlas 5-HP neck (identical to the SR5000 models).
45mm at the nut and a string spacing of 16.5mm is, in my opinion, the perfect combination - the fingers simply glow, and at the same time there is enough space for slap or pick. The SR allows you to set a super low string action at 1.25-1.5mm at the 12th fret G/B.
The bass is equipped with an Ibanez Powercurve III preamp (3-band EQ + midrange frequency knob), active/passive switch, pickup balance and the option to split coils in Nordstrand humbuckers. Fat Stacks, as the name suggests, sound very fat and meaty, and the guitar has a lot of growl. The character of the sound is rather dark. The B string is strong and responsive.
As for materials, we have a mahogany body, wenge on the fingerboard and a neck reinforced with titanium inserts made of wenge and bubinga. The tuners are Gotoh GB707, the bridge - Ibanez monorail.
The guitar is in great technical condition (frets, electronics, etc.) and average visually. Unfortunately, the thin (and pleasant to the touch) Transparent Black Flat finish had poor durability. Although the body has no major damage, in a few places the dark finish has simply worn out or crumbled.
I am selling it with the original hard case.
The guitar can be played in Poznań, Poland (!) safe shipping is no problem.
I am selling it as part of reducing my overgrown collection. It's a private sale so no warranty, return etc.
