Hello everyone!
I'm offering this magnificent piece for sale: a Sadowsky Tokyo from the very beginning of production, a custom model made on request before the launch of the Metroline series and exclusive to Japan.
These basses were entirely made by Yoshi Kikushi, a Japanese luthier who stayed with Roger for over a year to learn and perfect his craft.
Also, the hardware and electronics were identical to the NYC models of the time.
The result is an incredible bass with mojo, a killer resonance, and a slap queen.
NOTE: This bass should not be confused with the Tokyo and TYO series that followed, which were Metrolines only for Japan.
The first Tokyo basses were only custom-made basses.
This bass is in very good overall condition and has only standard play marks and the neck varnish has faded over time, but the entire instrument is sound and the action is very low, with no frets.
This is a bass that was played because it sounds very good!

For additional sound clips, I can easily create them upon request; please don't hesitate to contact me.
Here are the full specifications of this bass:
Body: Alder
Top: N/A
Neck: One-piece hard maple
Fretboard: Maple
Truss rod: 1 in excellent condition and fully functional
Tuning machines: Sadowsky
Nut: Bone
Inlays: Black dot
Scale: 34"
Frets: 21 frets in very good condition
Pickups: Sadowsky first generation USA split coils (probably DiMarzio Super Jazz)
Preamp: Sadowsky 9V with VTC
Controls: Volume/Blend/Tone/Boost-Cut Bass and Treble
Bridge: Schaller 3D
String spacing at bridge: 19 mm
String spacing at nut: 9 mm
Finish: Gloss finish for the body in Lake Placid Blue, which has become satin and Super smooth on the back of the neck.
Hardware color: Chrome
The action at the 12th fret below the E string is currently 2mm and 1.5mm below the G string. It still goes down smoothly, without any fretting, and I've set the neck almost perfectly straight to get a nice growl.
Comes with a Hiscox case in perfect condition and a new 9V battery.
Year of Manufacture: Approximately 2000
Country of Manufacture: United States
I can ship the bass wherever you like; I'm used to it.
No trades.
The bass can be tested near Metz on many amps.
Thanks!
