I'm selling a very interesting Schecter - a Diamond T California Custom model from 2007. Produced in South Korea for several years exclusively for the Asian market, it's a 35-inch, four-string... Jazz Bass.
The limited-edition nature of the bass is evident in the specifications: a Hipshot bridge with a through-body option, Grover tuners, a stunning top, and a neck made from a single piece of beautiful maple. A few other features are also included: a matching headstock, black mother-of-pearl inlays, and a graphite nut. The whole package is complemented by EMG pickups and a 2-band preamp. It was, as you might imagine, an expensive bass.
And how does it play? Well... Like an expensive bass.
The extended scale noticeably increases string tension. The bass is great for tuning down – Schecters are considered rock instruments for a reason. The EMGs deliver a lively tone and a powerful signal, and the rather heavy alder top resonates strongly with every pluck. The bass is objectively large, weighing around 4.7 kg, although the lacquered neck is thin (and very comfortable).
The guitar is in very good condition. The front, neck, and headstock also look elegant, but the back is less so, with a number of scratches and dings. Fortunately, there are no major paint chips. The frets still have a long life left, and the truss rod turns smoothly. The action is low and comfortable.
The bass can be played in Poznań (Poland), but I can also safely ship it in a gigbag.
Private sale, no warranty, return, trades etc.
