For sale a true boutique rarity especially in Europe - Skjold Greyling 5/33.
Built in 2021 by the esteemed luthier Mr. Pete Skjold (Skjold Design Guitars) in Warsaw, Ohio, USA, this instrument represents the absolute TOP of boutique craftsmanship. Pete Skjold is widely recognized as one of the most renowned luthiers in the world.
The Greyling model is a distinct exception in the Skjold Guitars portfolio, which is known for its modern-looking and sounding basses. This model is Pete Skjold’s passion project - his dream bass. The first was built for himself, and only at the urging of acclaimed Skjold player Damian Erskine was it put into regular production.
This particular bass is the first-ever built Greyling 5-string model, making it truly one-of-a-kind!
This passive bass is equipped with an outstanding quadcoil STA pickup, offering exceptional tonal versatility. A 4-way selector switch allows you to dial in four distinct voicings: (i) Precision Bass (P-bass; (ii) Reverse P-bass; (iii) series connection (high output/humbucking) ; (iv) parallel connection (clearer/single-coil-like). The pickup placement allows the bass to deliver everything from a classic Precision-style punch to a modern StingRay-type growl. It offers extraordinary sustain and a wide tonal range, all wrapped in an unusual (double-cut like) appearance. With a super-comfortable 33" scale and a light weight of only 3.85 kg (8.49 lbs), this bass is designed for effortless playability especially with flatwounds.
This is undoubtedly a boutique bass of the highest quality. It has been slightly played over the past few years and shows only minor signs of use. The overall condition is Excellent (Used).
