For sale: a five-string USA LAKLAND 55-14 CLASSIC bass guitar in Inca Silver finish. Year of manufacture: 2021. The instrument is in perfect condition and looks like new.
The only difference compared to the better-known 55-94 is that the body is made of lightweight selected alder instead of swamp ash, and the tuners are Korean HIPSHOT – however, they work absolutely flawlessly. Everything else is identical, including the quarter-sawn neck cut.
A wide range of tonal options is provided by a pair of Seymour Duncan pickups in MM-J configuration and Lakland LH3 three-band active electronics, which can also be switched to passive mode.
Note: the SD pickups were not installed at the factory but added later. However, these exact pickups were offered by Lakland in the late 1990s as an alternative to Bartolini pickups. In my opinion, the SD pickups sound more lively thanks to their open covers.
The bass guitar was completely manufactured and assembled in the USA.
The price includes the original hard case.
Weight: 4060 g.
Currently fitted with nearly new Elixir Nickel Wound strings.
