For sale is a Japanese Yamaha PulserBass (P
600 from the early 1980s. Ash with maple and sunburst top - a total classic.
The "600" is the more expensive of the Yamaha PBs. It differs from the popular 400 primarily in its single-piece maple neck and stronger pickup. The higher-end model was also supposedly better finished, although Yamahas made in Japan have always been top-tier in this regard.
The neck has a Fender Precision width (41.5mm at the nut) and a medium C profile, making it relatively slender. It's comfortable to play, especially since the balance and weight are very decent (approx. 4.1 kg).
The bass is over four decades old, so it has various scratches and chips, especially on the side of the body. It also has a trace of an unfortunate sticker. It still looks beautiful, though; the subtle sunburst complements the pickguard and striking wood grain perfectly. Technically, it's in excellent condition: the truss rod is functional, the frets are high, and the hardware still looks and functions well. The action is set at 2mm at the 12th fret. The volume knob is not original, but all the electronics are.
It can be played in Poznań (Poland), and safe shipping within the EU is possible.
Private sale, so no warranty, return etc. is offered.
