For sale is this rare Fender PBAC-950 from around 1990.
The bass has a Mahogany body with a spruce top, maple neck with rosewood fretboard. The controls are Volume, tone (active, affects the piezo pickup only) and pickup blend.
A nice variety of sounds can be achieved using the 2 pickup types. The bass is loud and resonant unplugged and has a pleasant open Precision sound when plugged in. It sounds great with just the P pickup too, but some different flavors can be had when using the piezo.
The neck is straight and the truss rod works fine both ways. The frets still have a lot of life, as they show little wear. Playability is great, a low action is not a problem. The action is adjustable through a micro-tilt system.
Overall condition is good. The bass has usermarks and small damages as to be expected from a used instrument of this age. The bridge nut has been replaced for one made of bone.
Included is original paperwork (the bass is called the PBAC-100 here, but the stamps on the neck and body say PBAC-950) and a simple gigbag.
It’s a very light instrument, only 3,37 kg on my kitchen scales.
I am located in the Netherlands. Pickup is preferred, but I’m happy to pack well and ship at buyers risk.
