For sale is a Japanese Yamaha (Broad Bass) BB VII from the mid-80s.
Full scale (34"). Alder body in a bit of sparkly red lacquer finish, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard make this bass a tonal classic.
It has been played over the past 40+ years and has dings and scratches on the body (natural relic - please check the photos). Natural patina on the tuners and the bridge. Technically, in good condition; the truss rod works fine; the sustain is good (which is not so obvious for vintage instruments). The frets have been polished and still have a lot of life. Bass is fully functional. During transport from Japan, the neck was slightly damaged between the saddle and the second fret (please see the photos). A professional luthier fully inspected and repaired it a while ago, and you can't really feel it when you touch it. The crack in the lacquer on the back of the body is also noticeable. This does not affect the sound either. The weight is around 4.3 kg. New 45-105 roundwound strings.
A simple Yamaha-branded gig bag is included.
