No 'probably'. I had the 1st BZ-4000 in the UK , it weighed slightly more than any of my Peavey T-40s. Nice bass, if I had one complaint it would be the finish; satin or matte would have been better than the heavy gloss.

Bass mit Single Coil Pickup am Halsende?

I bought a Squier Telecaster body but could never find a wide humbucker, fitted a Lakland ChiSonic single coil instead. 2nd from left. Guild BiSonic went in another build, 2nd from the right.

This is normal. Active EQ works as boost/cut on bass/treble or bass/mids/treble if 3 band. With passive the only feature is to cut highs, which highs and when the cut occurs depends on the cap valve and pot taper. When you switch an active/passive system to passive mode, 1 pot reverts to a...

A fact of which I am glad :-) It's not only his shtick, I don't trust trust his 'unbiased' reviews/opinions either. Mod videos containing "clip the link below (so I can get paid)" always pose the same question, was there really any improvement or did they edit the video so it would only appear...

I remember that thread well, most of the points raised were addressed. Think the only point left unanswered was " hum from solo bridge pickup", nobody had the heart to tell the poster the only way to avoid single coil hum is fit a humbucker :D

    Alternativen zum Löten von Pickups

Take a piece of sand paper and rough up the area intended for the ground. This clears away any grease or coating allowing for a solder/bare metal connection.

    Alternativen zum Löten von Pickups

I use the same things. Simply glue the PCB terminal to the back of the pot then solder the pins to the pot lugs. It's a task you do once which leaves you free to swap pickups and caps in/out as the mood takes you 🙂

@Geocollector I will email you with a PDF template and photos of the process. Job takes about 15 to 20 minutes to complete using a couple of very basic tools.

    PEAVEY T-Serie - The unsung heroes home . . .

Not as confused as I am, I have the actions reversed :II Tone 0 - 7 is humbucker, 8/9/10 is single coil. Having owned a few T-40s one would think I'd have remembered the tone pot actions. This is what happens when you clip the red wires and disable the spin a split feature :D

    PEAVEY T-Serie - The unsung heroes home . . .

If that is true then somebody has altered the wiring and had a much better idea than Red Rhoads. On T-40/T-60 the change from single coil to humbucker is controlled by the tone not volume pots, humbucker mode kicks in at 7 and above. It's a pretty poor system as you have limited tone variation...

    Telecaster Bass/Precision 51

I did not plan this one, sometimes fate forces your hand 🙂 Last Friday I saw a 51/Dirt style body for sale on the Facebook marketplace. 2 messages and £45 later it was mine:great: 2 saddle bridge and through body string bushings were part of the sale so very little was needed from the spares...

I had the exact same experience :D I view Seymour Duncan as the Nescafe instant coffee of the bass pickup world ; just because it's a well known brand does not mean they are good :great:

    Telecaster Bass/Precision 51

@Shazam The original HB telecasters from 2013 to late 2017 had "tamer" pickups. Those Wilkinsons were great, to the extent fake Wilkinson pickups became a supply issue :O! The Roswell is not a bad pickup just different, I much prefer the Roswell to the , same materials yet hugely over-wound...

    Telecaster Bass/Precision 51

I was long an admirer of the 51 P-bass but never had any experience with them until a few years ago. My introduction was via the Thomann PB-50, a fine bass and a very important purchase for me. After decades on active basses the humble single coil was a breath of fresh air. More were to...
