welche technologische innovationen im bereich bassgitarren in der letzten 50 jahren?

Steve Chick's idea for MIDI bass was quite innovative, look at all the bits crammed into my Peavey. Have not a clue what they do but they're in there

welche technologische innovationen im bereich bassgitarren in der letzten 50 jahren?

Strictly museum pieces, only 4 of the Audiovox basses still exist. I suspect there are even fewer of the accompanying Audiovox bass amplifiers, the bass fiddle was sold as a complete package. Tutmarc's son Bud also followed in his father's footsteps, his Serenader bass appeared in 1947. What I...

welche technologische innovationen im bereich bassgitarren in der letzten 50 jahren?

My friend Rick restored one when he worked for Gruhn. Travis Bean did aluminium necks nor were Modulus alone in developing graphite necks, don't forget Steve Mosher (Moses)/ Rob Gren (Status) and Patrice Vigier were all doing graphite necks around the same time.

    Warum in aller Welt...

Not my experience. You ask "Why build when you can buy?" My answer is why buy when you can build. I've 40 years working as a carpenter, that's longer than most St Leo employed 😃 Duck egg blue on the left cost me £130 to build, 40% went on the Jess Louerio pickup. Over on the right the Dirnt...

    Zeigt her Eure Bässe

April found me in an odd situation. Home workshop was packed away in preparation for a house move yet a significant birthday happened. Not to feel left out I took the unusual step and asked a local fella to handle the build. This one brings my total of 51/54/Telecaster/Dirnt style basses to 13...

    Harley Benton PB 50

The sunburst has a "Foto Flame" finish, similar to the process Fender Japan used. The finish may show a 2 or 3 piece grain pattern but below will be different. The body is also protected by a thick poly finish, no easy task to remove. As for the quality of the bass, they are good. The single...

Japan Glory - ab wann gabs den heißen Scheiß

I would say around 1976 as by 1978 some of the Japanese companies like Aria and Ibanez had ditched making copies for high quality original designs.

Harley Benton Home - Im Land der Billigheimer

There is no certainty regarding that happening. I've played the PB-50 on the right since April 2014 and all the stock electronics remain fully functional. PB-50 on the left received a pickup swap June 2014, it also has fully functional crackle-free stock electronic parts 🙂 The Harley...

Sensible choice as the alternative, walnut brown, is not very attractive 8D

This afternoon I took things slightly farther than a tail piece:D Mosrite basses were 20 frets, later 22, but the baritone neck I was using had 24 frets. 24 frets no more🤣 AI now had to re-position the bridge, this was a good time to replace it altogether. Guyker version of the 'Space...

Torzal Bässe - Ergonomie mal anders

An English fella posted about his this week on Basschat. The man suffers with some form of hand problem, possibly carpal tunnel. No word on how it plays or if it helps his condition until he's allowed to open the box under the tree 😃 https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/487200-new-bass-torzal/

I was very disappointed with the Big-T last April, releasing Mosrite style guitars but no Mosrite bass. This weekend I took steps to right that wrong, admittedly these are small steps 🙂 So far only a baritone paddle neck paired with a Thomann MR classic and a Sung Il bridge. Peghead will...

I had the previous release of the 4 string. It was quite weighty, easily 5Kg. Build quality was nice though I would have preferred an oil or satin finish instead of the heavy gloss coat. For the then price of €214 it was fantastic value for money. Reminded me of the Peavey Cirrus BXP.

If I prefer a passive bass, what good is the Sadowsky? You may say the preamp is an 'upgrade' but unless a potential buyer is familiar with the unmodified bass, how do they know if that is true? The same applies when replacing tuning pegs, bridges, pickups etc for brand name items, unless the...

On this? Not much material for the connector block to grip. Thankfully the pliers days are a dim and distant memory :-)

I'm sorry but I don't agree. Open gear tuners have a long history with stringed instruments. The concept has not been improved by media savvy brand names nor their "look at me" pricing. I started playing on one of these. Mine actually only had 3 strings and, since the tuner pegs were broken...

Shortys - Im Land der Kurzen

I recently put together a short scale using a guitar body and a baritone guitar neck. The heel of guitar necks being notoriously narrow, 56mm, had me seeking 16.5mm spacing at the bridge. Found them on Ali-Express in black or chrome from 'King Musical Accessories'; €10 including delivery...

Harley Benton - HB-60 WB - Hollowbody Bass

Had one in white. Never experienced any of the issues you describe. Floating bridge never moved, tuners worked just fine, no electronic problems.

That was my feeling too. It's hard to believe 10 years have passed since buying the BZ-4000, Thomann had it delivered to Scotland 2 days before sales went live in the store 8D
